ARTIST STATEMENT

My work explores the body as a site of tension, perception, and transformation.
I am interested in how internal states — such as pressure, overstimulation, and fragmentation — manifest physically and reshape the visible form.

Through the use of layered materials, distortion, and contrasting approaches to surface, I create figures that exist between presence and disruption. Some bodies appear embedded, constrained, or partially erased, while others are overwhelmed by light, color, or sensation.

I approach the body not as a stable or idealized form, but as something constantly negotiating its boundaries. In my work, perception becomes physical: tension accumulates in the surface, materials resist or collapse, and the figure exists in a state of both vulnerability and resistance.

By shifting between softness and aggression, control and loss of control, I explore the instability of identity and the body’s capacity to hold experience.
